Higher Levels Programme

Advanced & Proficiency English

A structured C1-C2 programme for learners whose English already works, but no longer develops enough in ordinary advanced courses.

The course is designed for confirmed strong C1 and C2 learners. A Cambridge certificate is helpful but not required: placement is based on current language ability.

Is this programme right for you?

This course is intentionally demanding. It is for long-term language development, not short-term exam tactics.

This programme is for you if

  • You already operate at strong C1 or C2.
  • Ordinary advanced courses no longer challenge you.
  • You want long-term language development.
  • You are prepared for demanding reading, writing and discussion.

It is not designed for

  • Rapid exam-score improvement.
  • Strategy-only preparation.
  • Casual speaking practice.
  • Learners below the required entry level.
Exam success may follow, but exam technique is not the primary aim.

FAQ

Secondary questions are collected here instead of being scattered across separate narrow blocks.

No. A certificate is helpful, but placement is based on current language ability. The programme is designed for confirmed strong C1 and C2 learners.

Advanced is for strong C1 and post-CAE learners working with Upstream Advanced C1. Proficiency is for confirmed C2 and post-CPE learners working with Upstream Proficiency C2.

It can support exam-level language quality, but it is not an exam-strategy course. If you need fast exam technique or task drilling, Exam English is usually a better fit.

Writing is a core part of the programme. You work on structure, argumentation, cohesion, tone, syntactic flexibility and revision.

Track changes are possible when your current level and workload make the move academically sensible. The teaching team will advise after placement or during the course.

Entry level is determined through placement, current performance and the ability to work with demanding C1-C2 input, not only through old exam results.

A course certificate may be issued upon successful completion. It is separate from Cambridge exam certification.
